Informations taken this Twenty
second day of February 1779 at the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the
County of Middlesex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Anthony Maccarto< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

William Brown< no role > at No. 4. Providence Court in
North Audley Street Coachmaker on his Oath saith
That about Two o'Clock yesterday (Febry 21st.) Dept.
was walking in Hyde Park in the sd. Parish of
St. George Hanover Square and in a Go [..] Pit near
the Magazine House there saw a Hat, and soon
after the Great Goat floating upon the Water, That
he got close to the Pit and saw theHead
Deced in the Water Says, that he pulled the
Deced to the side of the Pit and got the Head
out of water, and with the Assistance of
Thomas Ray< no role > lifted the Deced out of the Water
Says that the Deced was Warm but Dept. did
not observe any life in him, nor did he
see any Marks of violence upon the Deced
Says that Mr. Williamson a Surgeon used all
means for upwards of three hours to recover
the Deced, but with out effect, Says that he
found a Stick Street in the Water almost to
the Head and believes that the Deced Accidentally
fell in the Water and was Accidentally Drowned
Says that he found a watch in the Deced's Pocket
half a Crown and one per [..] and afterwards
a Gum & was found in one of his Pockets
