in the County of Midsex }

Informations taken this Thirtieth
day of November 1778 at the Parish of St. Martin
in the Fields within the Liberty of Westmr in the
County of Midsex upon an Inquisition touching he
death of Samuel Bruckshaw< no role > lying dead in the
said Parish Liberty and County.

William Hodgson< no role > of St. Martins Lane in the
Parish of St. Martin in the Fields Carver
on his Oath saith That Samuel Bruckshaw< no role >
the Deced has lodger in Deptr. House almost a Mouth
in a Room on the First Floor, Says that the
Deced supped with him on Saturday Night
last and went to his own Room in order
to go to Bed between Eleven & twelve o'Clock
Says that the Deced Locked his Room Door
Which he Severs not used to do,
Says that
the next morning, Novr. 29th a little before
Nine o'Clock Dept. sent his son (an Insant
of the Age of five years & upwards) to call
the Deced to Break fast, That he soon
returned saying that he had knocked and
believed Mr. Bruckshaw was a sleep upon
which Dept. went & knocked at the Deceds
Room Door which was Locked and the
Key in the Lock on the inside of the Door
That he like wise called to the Deced and
having no Answer, he forced open the Door
