County of Midsex }

Informations taken this Sixteenth
day of November 1778 at the Parish of
St. George Hanr. Square within the Liberty
of Westmr. in the County of Midsex upon
an Inquisition touching the death
of a Woman unknown lying dead
in the said Parish Liberty & County

Michael Jones< no role > Servant to Mr. Moore
Keeper of Hyde Park in the Parish of
St. George Hanr. Square on his Oath saith
That on Friday last (Novr. 13th.) a Gentlemn
came to Dept. who was at Mr. Moon's House
& informed him that a Woman lay Drowned
in a Pond in Hyde Park facing St. George's
Row, upon which he went with the
Gentleman and saw the Deced lying in
the Pound there upon her Back, Says
that another of Mr. Moon's Man took off
his Shoes Stockings went into the water
and with a Hook pulled the Deced out of
the Waters the Deced being dead but did
not appear to have been long in [..] wate
Says that he did not know the Deced, non
did he observe any Marks of violence
upon the Body and Dept. believes
that the Deced was Accidentally Drowned
& Suffocated.
