15th. July 1776.

Verdict of the Jury touching the Death of Samuel Brent
That the said Samuel Brent< no role > on the 13th. day of July 1776
being Bathing in the River Thames [..] at the back of
the Engine House he Consing to Chelsea Water Works it so happened
that accidentally casually and by Misfortune he the said
Samuel Brent< no role > in the Waters of the said River was suffocated
and Drowned of which said Suffocation and Drowning he
the said Samuel Brent then and then instanlly Died. And
so the Jurors say on their Oath that the said Samuel Brent
in manner and by the means aforesaid accidentally casually
and by Misfortune came to his Death and not otherwise
In Witness whereof the Freman on behalf of himself and
the rest of the Jurors have hereunto set his Hand this 15th.
day of July1776.
