Informations taken this Thirtieth
day of January 1776 at the Parish of
St. Martin in the Fields within the
Libety of Westmr. in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the Death of
Robert Moules< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County,

Richard Green< no role > Victualler at the Sign of the Fox
in Hungerford in the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields
within the Liberty of Westmr, on his Oath saith, That
on Firday last 26th of January Instant about three
o'Clock in the Afternoon Dept. being in his Taproom
when Robert Moules< no role > the Deced came into his
Taproom, and sat down upon a Bench, then
took hold of John Lowland< no role > a Black the Waiter who stood there
pulled him to him and put said Lowland upon
the Table and with his Hand Struck Lowland
upon his Backside, in play and for Diversion, says
that the Deced and Lowland took hold of Each other
and were strugling together at the End of the Table
in the Taproom, the Deced having Lawland's Head
under his Arm, Says that the Deced said "John
leave off, for I have hurt myself in my Groin"
upon which Lowland immediately let go his held
and Deced laid himself down upon the Bench for about
half a minute, then got up an walked in the
Taproom putting his Hand to his Belly and saying
that he had hurt his Groin, but Dept. dud not see
him go out. Says that Lowland did not strike
or Kick, the Deced, and that the Strugle was only
for Diversion and not in anger, the Deced and
Lowland being always in Friendship,
