Informations taken this Fifteenth day
of April 1774 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of Westmr , in the County
of Midsex upon an Inquisition touching the
death of Daniel Delany< no role > lying dead in the
said Parish Liberty and County.

William Trew< no role > House Surgeon at the Westmr. Hospital
in the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr . on his Oath
saith That on the Thirtieth day of March last Daniel
Delany
< no role > the Deced was brought to said Hospital as on
Accident, having a compound Fracture of the right
ankle Says that in a few hours after the Leg
was taken off. Says that a Fever soon after
came on, which continued until the time of
his death, which happened yesterday about
three o' Clock in the afternoon, and believes that
his death was in consequence of the Fracture
abovementioned. And this Dept. says that Deced
told him that he was at work with a Bricklayer
upon a House in Charles Street Westmr. and that
he Accidentally fell from one Scaffold down to
another which was a considerable height

Simon Webb< no role > of Swallow Street in the parish of
St. James Westmr . Bricklayer on his Oath Saith, That on
the 30th. or 31st. day of March last Dept. was at work upon
the top of a House in Charles Street in the parish of
St. Margaret Westmr . and was attended by Daniel
Delany
< no role > as a Laborer , Says thatone ofthe Poles Road
which supported the Scaffold on which the Deced
was standing & this Deponent, and that the Deced
fell from thence down to another Scaffold about

the height at thirteen foot, whereby the Deced's
ankle was put output outand the Bone came through his
Stockings Says, that he assisted to cary the Deced to
the Westmr. Hospital Says that the Deced Accidentally
fell off the Scaffold by the Pole Roling, and that
nothing was done by any Person to cause this
fall.
