An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign, Lord the
King, at the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Ninth day of March in the Fourteenth Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
David Miller< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of James
Barr
< no role > , Henry Slack< no role > , John Garwood< no role > , William Yeates< no role > , Lusten Vaughan< no role > , John

< no role > and Richard Greensword< no role > , good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said David Miller< no role > came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said David Miller< no role > . not being of sound
Mind Memory and understanding but lunatic and distracted, on the Fourth
day of March in the Year aforesaid at the Parish of Kensington in the
County aforesaid, with a certain Penknife made of Iron and Steel which
he the said David Miller< no role > then and there had and held in his Right Hand
the Throat or Gallet of him the said David Miller< no role > did then and there strike
stab and penetrate, and also in and upon the Belly of him the said David
Miller
< no role > did then and there strike Stab and penetrate, thereby then and there
giving unto himself with the Penknife aforesaid, in and upon the Throat
one mortal Wound, and also in and upon the Belly of him the said David
Miller
< no role > one other mortal Wound, of which said mortal Wound he
the said David Miller< no role > from the said Fourth day of March in the Year aforesaid
until the Seventh day of the same Month and Year, at the said Parish
of saint George Hanover Square within the Liberty and County aforesaid
did languish and languishing did live, on which said Seventh day of
March in the Year aforesaid, at the said Parish of Saint George Hanover
Square, he the said David Miller< no role > of the mortal Wounds aforesaid did die
And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid so say, that the
said David Miller< no role > , not being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding
but lunatic and distracted, in Manner and by the Means aforesaid, did
hill himself. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the
said James Barr< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of himself
and the rest of his Fellows in their presence, have to this Inquisition
set their Hands and Seals, the Day Year an Place first above written.
