Informations taken this Fourth day
of February 1774 at the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square within the Liberty of Westmr .
in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the Death of James Sanders< no role > lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty and County

John Beardmore< no role > of Piccadilly in the Parish of St.
George Hanover Square within the Liberty of Westmr .
on his Oath saith That Yesterday Morning (Feb 3d.)
about half hour after Ten o'Clock Dept. went into the
Green Park ; and saw James Saunders< no role > the Deced Skaiting
upon the Reservior there, Says that a Gentleman's
Servant was then putting on his Skaits by the side
of the Reservior saying that it was bad Skaiting upon
the Canal, and thereupon He and this Dept. went
upon the Ice on the Reservior, Say, that they all
Skaited there about an hour, That the Deced, the
Gentleman's Servant and this Dept. met upon the Ice
and were standing together, when the Ice broke
and the Deced and this Dept. fell into the Water
Says that soon after Mr. Serle one of the Keepers
come to the side of the Reserviour and threw in a
Rope which Dept. got held of and by it was pulled
out Says that he did not afterwards see the Deced
in the Water but believes that he was there
Drowned Accidentally by the breaking of the Ice.
