Informations taken this Twenty eighth day of
December 1773 at the Parish of St. Clement Danes
within the Liberty of Westminster in the County of
Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching the
Death of John Rand< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County

John Perrins< no role > of the Strand in the Parish of
St. Clement Danes Watchmaker on his Oath saith
That Yesterday Morning he was sent for to Mrs. Rand's
in Ship Yard Temple Barr in the Parish of St. Clement
Danes , Says that he went [..] there saw the Body
of John Rand< no role > the Deced and two Men who they said had
brought him there, and that by Grapling they had
drawn him out of the River Thames opposite the
Tower to the Shore, Says that one of the Men
was a Sailor , who said that he belonged to the Ship
Nancy, and that the Deced was a Tidewaiter and
had been some time on Board the said Ship,That
the Deced was on Board the Ship on Friday Night
last and Accidentally fell over Board that Night
being much in Liquor, and was Drowned, Says
that the other Man was a Tide waiter and had
been with Deced on Board the Nancy, Says that
the Deced's Watch was in his Fob and three shilling
and six pence in his Pocket, Says that on
Saturday last (Decr. 25th.) this Dept. (by the desire of
Mrs. Rand, the Deced's Wife, who had been that Morning
informed of her Husband being Drowned) went on
Board the Ship Nancy lying off the Tower , and
after asking the Mate and four or five Sailors then
on Board Several Questions, he was informed by the
Mate "That he and the Deced had been drinkg. Porter and
"Grog together freely ever Night, on Board the Ship [..] until about
"Eleven o'Clock and that the Deced was very much
