Informations taken the Fifth day of May
1773 at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of Westmr . in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the death of Thomas
Brooks
< no role > lying dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

James Edwards< no role > Second Coastman to Sir George Colebrooke< no role >
on his Oath saith That yesterday about a Quarter after
Six o'Clock in the Afternoon he was in the Stable Yard
belonging to the Black Horse in Bond Street in the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square , where Sr. George's
Horses stood, that the Deced Thomas Brooks< no role > was likewise
there, That this Dept. and his fellow Servant went to
Dress the Horses, and that the Deced went into the Stable
& shut the Door saying that he would shake up the Litter and give the
Horses some Hay, Says that in about half an hour
when the Horses were Dressed, Dept. went into the Stable
and finding that the differ was not shook up, nor any
Hay in the Rack, he went up into the Hay lost and there
saw the Deced Hanging by a Cord fixed around a Wooden
Beam, Says that he was much frightened, went down
immediately and acquainted the Hostler and other People
therewith. and Dept. believes that the Deced Hanged
himself, Says that the Deced had been about of Place
about two Months, and sometimes appeared to be low
spirated, & at other times chearful.

saith That yesterday Evening about a Quarter before
seven o'Clock after He and James Edwards< no role > his Fellow Servt.
had dressed his Master's Horses at the Black Horse Yard
in Bond Street , Edwards went up into the Hay lost to throw
