An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of Saint Margaret
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Thirtieth day of November in the Thirteenth Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
Robert Page< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of John Hales< no role > ,
Joseph Partridge< no role > , William Davies< no role > , Thomas Hill< no role > , John Griton< no role > , George
Twigg
< no role > , Thomas Stanley< no role > , Thomas Bayley< no role > , John Wright< no role > , James Storey< no role > ,
Joseph Skinner< no role > and John Warden< no role > , good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Robert Page< no role > came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say, That Henry West< no role > a Laborer on the Twenty third
day of November in the Year aforesaid being carefully driving a certain Waggon
loaden with Turneps and drawn by four Horses in the Kings Highway near
unto Chelsea Church in the County aforesaid; and the said Robert Page< no role > being
then and there riding upon the said Load of Turneps in the said Waggon,
It so happened that by a sudden jolt of the said Waggon, the said Robert Page< no role >
was then and there Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune thrown off and
from the said Turneps unto the Ground, and thereby did then and there
receive one mortal Concussion in and upon the Brain, and one violent
Fracture in and upon the left side of the Head of him the said Robert Page< no role >
of which said mortal Concussion and Fracture he the said Robert Page< no role > form
the said Twenty third day of November in the Year aforesaid until the
Twenty eighth day of the same Month, at the said Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty and County aforesaid did languish and languishing did
live, on which said Twenty eighth Day of November, at the Parish of St.
Margaret aforesaid, he the said Robert Page< no role > of the mortal Concussion and
Fracture aforesaid did die. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath
aforesaid do say, That the said Robert Page< no role > in Manner and by the
Means aforesaid, Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune came to his
Death, and not otherwise. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner
as the said John Hales< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors, on the behalf of
himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this
Inquisition set their Hands and Seals, the Day Years and Place first
above written
