Informations taken this Seventh day
of November 1772 at the Parish of St. James
within the Liberty of Westmr . in the County of
Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching the
Death of Louis Debain < no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Alexander Murray< no role > of Brewer Street in the Parish of
St. James Westmr . Perfumer on his Oath saith That he was
going home with Mr. Martin on Thursday Night last
about Twelve o'Clock and saw Louis Debain the Deced standing
at the Door of the Fox Ale house in Brewer's Street [..]
knocking at the Door and making a Noise, Says that
they passed by the Deced who Appeared to be either
Mad or much in Liquor, Says that when he was got
to his own Door, which is about twenty Yards from the
Fox, the Deced came up to him, and without speaking
a Word took hold of Dept. Hair behind and pulled him
off the Cause way into the Street Says that he got up and
took hold of the Deced and threw him down, but did
not strike him, Says that the Deced had some bright
Instrument in his Hand which Dept. believes to be
a pair of Scissars with which he struck at this Dept.
upon which Dept. endeavoured to force them out of his
Hand but could not Says that the Deced called out Water
and upon a Watchman coming, this Dept. the Deced
Mr. Martin and Mr. Furick a Neighbour come together
to the Watchhouse, where Deced gave charge of this
Dept. and Dept. charged the Deced Says that he
staid there about half an hour, and upon some Gentleman
answering for his appearing the next Morning this Dept.
was permitted to go home, leaving the Deced in the
Watch house; who then appeared to be rather Soberer but
Noisy and troublesome
