on his Oath saith That on Saturday Night
last about Twelve o' Clock (Octr. 31) he went to the Sign
of the Kings Head in Old Bond Street
where he saw Thomas

drinking in the Taproom with some Company, Says
that the Deced appeared to be in Liquor but not drunk
Says that he left the Deced there and went into the
Kitchin behind Taproom where he staid for the most
part until almost two o' Clock and then went towards
home, and found the Street Door locked Says that as he
was going up the Garrat Stairs he found the Deced
lying down with his Head towards the bottom of the
Stairs, it being dark and this Dept. having no Candle
Says that he spoke to the Deced, who made him no
Answer, but muttered some thing imperfect, Says that
he endeavoured to lift him up but could not, and that
he afterwards pulled the Deced to the bottom of the
Garret Stairs and set him there upon his Backside
against the Wainscot, where Dept. left the Deced and
then went to Bed, without acquainting any Person
therewith, as he had several times found the Deced upon
the Stairs before at Night in Liquor, Says that between
Seven and eight o' Clock on Sunday Morning Dept. was
Dressing himself to come down when Thomas Bull< no role >

who lay with him went down Stairs first and said that a
Man was Keeping upon the Stairs, and Dept. then saw
the Deced sitting in the same Position in which he left
