he came home from Sea, and which was worst of
all, that they had taken away his Character By
telling his Creditors, that he the Deced had never
been Robbled; That the Deced appeared to be very
un easy and shed some Tears and said that he
had other be out the World than in it if it pleaced
God Says that Mr. Welch what set at the same Table
asked Deced to Eat some tripe and to Drink some
[..] Beer with him but Deced refused to Eat or Drink
do which must be done that night saying that he had some particular Business to and went up stairs when he said about five Minutes & then comedown and in about
five Minutes after or less the Deced got up and without
speaking to any Body, went out of the House.
Says that in five minutes after at most Mr. Green
the Land lady said that there is Murder in the Lane
upon which Dept. went out, and his going into
Mr. Taafe's shop, he saw Mrs. Tafe Bleeding from a
Wound over her Eye and the Deced Mr. Miers
lying down on the Floor with his Throat cut
and bleeding very much, Says that the Deced was
not able to Speak and appeared to be dying. Says
that Mr. Taafe came into the sign of the Spotted Dog
some Minutes before the Deced went out, and
staid there until they were claimed by Mrs. Green.
Says that he has known the Deced above five years
and that he appeared to Dept. to be in his Perfect
Senses as usual when they were Drinking together
on Wednesday night last. But low Spirited

Thomas Parr< no role > a Lodger at Mr. Greens the Sign of the
Spotted Dog in Clements lane on his Oath saith that on
Wednesday night Between Eight and nine o'clock this
Dept. was [..] Mrs. Greens House and on hearing a noise
in the lane he went out and then heard Mrs. Taafe.
of her own Door crying out aloud, "O Lord Mr. Miers"
says that Mrs. Taafe was Bleading down the face and
was very much frightened, that he led Mrs. Taafe
into her Shop where he saw Mr. Miers the Deced lying
down upon the floor bleeding from his Throat. and
appeared to be dying . Says that he fetched Mr. Crow [..]
the Surgeon and did not see the Deced ofter wards, Says
that there was no person in Mr. Taafe's Shop when
Dept. went in but the Deced, Says that he saw the
Deced that Evening in Mr. Green's House drinking
and that he appered to him to be Sensible as usual
and their Dept. Says that Mr Taafe was in Mr. Green
House before the Deced went out of it.

Mary Taafe< no role > the Wife of James Taafe< no role > of Clements Lane
Periwig maker on her oath saith that on Wednesday
night last (Sepr. 30th). this Dept. being in her Shop with
her Child a lad about the age of nine Years a little
after Eight o Clock in the Evening says that the
Shop Door was Locked was and that she intended going
into the yard to see if the Water was coming in, and
on her unlocking the Shop Door, she reced a Stroke
upon her Head with force, and immediately
Mr. Miers the Deced came reeding into the Shop and
Struck the Deced twell again upon the Head and face with
some Shap instrument, and there by gave this Dept.
three wounds which bled very much Says that she spot
to Mr. Miers calling him by name but Deced made
answer, says that she took hold of the Deced's Cellor
and Dept. him off for a Short time until she Deced the
third Wound, and then let go her hold ran to the Door
and cryed out murder, Says that the Deced then stood
the Middle of the Shop and did not fellow she Deced to the
Door, says that her wounds bled very much, and she
