An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
within th Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the First day of October in the Twelfth Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
Sophia Bingner< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of Thomas
Shiells

< no role > and William Pratt< no role > Good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly Sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Sophia Bingner came to
h er Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said Sophia Bingner on the Twenty
Fifth day of September in the Year aforesaid being in her Lodging room in
the Dwelling House of Frederick Bingner< no role > her Husband situate in the Hay-
Market in the Parish of Saint James within the Liberty and County aforesaid,
And being then and there Intoxicated and in Liquor, and having a Candle
lighted and burning in her Hand, It so happened that the Linnen Goren and
other Cloaths which the said Sophia Bingner then and there had on her Body
Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune took Fire, by Reason whereof, the
said Sophia Bingner was then and there very much burnt in her Stomach
Neck and Face by the Flame arising from the said Fire, of which said Burning
she the said Sophia Bingner from the said Twenty fifth day of September in the Year
aforesaid until the Twenty eighth day of the same Month and Year, at the said
Parish of St. James , and also at the said Parish of St. George Hanover Square
within the Liberty and County aforesaid did languish and languishing did live,
on which said Twenty eighth day of September in the Year aforesaid, at the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square aforesaid, she the said Sophia Bingner of
the mortal Burning aforesaid, did dye. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their
Oath aforesaid do say, that the said Sophia Bingner, in Manner and by
the Means aforesaid, Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune came to her
Death, and not otherwise, In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner,
as the said Thomas Shiells< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of
himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition
set their Hands and Seals, the Day Year and Place First above written
