An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of Saint James
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Eleventh day of April in the Twelfth Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
Joshua Burr< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of Joseph
Jarvis

< no role > and Joseph Dawson< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Joshua Burr< no role > came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say That on the Seventeenth day of March in the
Year aforesaid, a Man, Servant to Lancelot Baugh< no role > , was carefully riding a certain
Bay Horse in Mr. Burkinshaw's Riding House situate in Oxford Street in the
County aforesaid, which said Horse took Fright about the Middle of the said
Riding House, and the said Joshua Burr< no role > being then and there standing at
the End of the said Riding House, It so happened that the said Bay Horse
with one of his Forefeet did then an there Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune
kick the said Joshua Burr< no role > in and upon his Forehead over the Right Eye,
by Means whereof the said Joshua Burr< no role > , in and upon his Forehead did then
and there receive one mortal Wound and Contusion, of which said mortal wound
and Confusion he the said Joshua Burr< no role > from the said Seventeenth day of March in the
Year aforesaid until the Ninth day of April in the same Year at the Parish aforesaid
and also at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square within the Liberty and County
aforesaid, did languish and languishing did live; on which said Ninth day of April
in the Year aforesaid, at the said Parish of St. George Hanover Square in the Liberty
and County aforesaid, he the said Joshua Burr< no role > of the mortal Wound and Contusion
aforesaid did die. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say,
that the said Joshua Burr< no role > in Manner and by the Means aforesaid, Accidentally
Casually and by Misforatune came to his death and not otherwise In Witness
whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said Joseph Jarvis< no role > Foreman of the said
Jurors, on the behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence,
have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day Year and Place
first abovewritten
