Informations taken this Eighth day of
January 1772 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of Westmr . in the County
of Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching
the death of Richard Cathorn< no role > lying dead
in the said Parish Liberty and County

Joseph Harden< no role > at the Westmnr. Hospital in the Parish
of St. Margaret Westmr . on his Oath saith That on the 13th. day
of Novr. last Richard Cathorn< no role > was brought to said Hospital
as an Accident, having a very bad compound Fracture
upon his left Leg, both the Bones near the Ankle being
broke to pieces and the main bone near the Knee being
likewise broke Says that the Leg was taken off above the Knew
Says that the Deced died in said Hospital the 6th. January
and believes that the Fractures abovementioned were
the cause of his Death.

Stone Mason in [..] le Abington Street in the Parish of St. John
the Evangelist Westmr on his Oath saith That on the 13th.
day of Novr. last Richard Cathorn< no role > the Deced being at Work
in Mr. Gayfer's Yard, as a Laborer, when Dept. ordered
the Deced and Richard Lowes< no role > another Laborer to move
some Stones there, and first to remove the [..]
Block which bore upon two other blocks of Stone, Says
that they went to work, and Dept. turned himself about
and immediatly heard the Deced cry out, and Dept. then
found the Stone upon the Deced's left Leg which was broke
and held only by the Skin, Says that the Deced was immediately
Carriedcalledto the Westmr. Hospital. Says that the LaborersPeoplewere
in great Harmony, and believes that the hurt which the
Deced received was merely Accidental
