Informations of Witness taken this
Twenty fifth day of September 1771 at the Parish
of St. George Hanover Square within the Liberty of
Westmr. in the County of Middlesex upon an Inquisition
touching the Death of a Woman Unknown lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty and County

Thomas Jenkins< no role > of the Next Houses in the Parish
of St. George Hanover Square Gardiner on his Oath saith
Yesterday Morning about half an hour after Seven
of the Clock he went to the Sign of the Sperad Eagle
there, to call his Men who were come from Market
says that the Men told him that there was something
under the Boat, as they went to the Thomas Side
where the Boat, was left about an hour before
Says that he Mr. Toon Mr, Peterson and the Men
went down, and under the Stern of the Boat he
saw the Deced lying with her face down wards
Says that she was taken out of the Thomas at the
Neat Houses, when she appeared to be dead but
not to have been long in the Water, says that
the Deced's face was a little scratched bur Dept
observed no Marks of Violence upon her says
that the Men belonging to Dept. went with Goods Yesterday
Morning about Three o'Clock in a Boat to Market, and
the Men, which were four in Number, returned in their
Boat to the Spread Eagle between Six & Seven o'Clock
where they left the Boat the Tide Ebbing at that time

William Patterson< no role > at the Sign of the Spread Eagle
Victualler on his Oath saith, That the Account given
above by Thomas Jenkins< no role > is all true with respect
to the Deced.
