An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of St. Margaret
Within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Ninth day of September in the Eleventh Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith and so forth, Before Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
William Norman< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of John Gardner< no role >

Charles Townsend< no role > , Francis David< no role > and Joseph Ashmore< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, When, how, and by what Means the said William Norman< no role > came to
his Death, do upon their Oath say That the said William Norman< no role > a Carpenter
or the Thirty first day of August in the Year aforesaid being at Work
upon the outside of a certain Wooden shed in the Stable Yard of William Jones< no role >
situate in Deans Yard in the Parish Liberty and County aforesaid and
the Fastenings of the said Shed giving way, It so happened that the said
William Norman< no role > Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune fell down, with
the said Shed, unto and upon the Stone Pavement in the said Stable Yard,
and thereby did then and there receive one Mortal Wound upon his Temple and
Fracture upon his Right Thigh, of which said Mortal Wound and Fracture
for the said William Norman< no role > from the said Thirty first day of the August in the Year
aforesaid until the Eighth day of September in the same Year [..]
in the Liberty and County aforesaid did languish and Languishing did live
on which did Eight day of September in the Year aforesaid at the Parish and
in the Liberty and County aforesaid he the said William Norman< no role > of the Mortal
Wound and Fracture aforesaid did die. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon
their Oath aforesaid do say that the said William Norman< no role > in Manner and
by the Means aforesaid Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune came
to his Death, and not otherwise. In Witness whereof as well the said
Coroner, as the said John Gardner< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors, on the
behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence have to
this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day Year and Place
first above written
