Informations of Witnesses severally taken and
acknowledged on the behalf of our Sovereign Lord the King
touching the Death of William Firmary< no role > at the
Dwelling House of Mr. John Smith< no role > known by the
Sign of the Kings head in James Street in the Parish of
St. Margaret in the City of Westminster on the Second
day of September in the Eleventh Year of the Reign of
our Sovereign Lord King George the Third Before Me
Thomas Prickard< no role > His Majestys Coroner for the City
and Liberty of Westminster , on an Inquisition then and
there taken on View of the Body of the said William
Firmary then and there lying Dead as follow the wits.

John Cartwright Dickenson< no role > House Surgeon to the Hospital in James Street
Westminster on his Oath says that William Firmary the Deced was Admitted
into the said Hospital the 11th, day of August 1771 with a Confused wound
on the back part of the Head, on the 21st, he began to have some bad
Symptoms which made it necessary to aplly the Trepan on the 29th, a large
quantity of Matter was Discharged by the Operation, and not with standing
all possible means were tried to save him he Died on the 31st, at Eight a
the Evening, upon opening the Head the Dura Mater was found much diseased
and on cutting it through a large Quantity of Matter was found between it
and the Brain, this matter expanded all over the right Hemisphere opposite
to the side where he first received the Blow, these appearances are such as
