Middlesex } to wit.

An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of St. John the Evangelist
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Twenty seventh day of May in the Eleventh Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of great - Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
William White< no role > Henry Sterling< no role > and Edward Cook< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of John

William Hodges< no role > and John Tomlinson< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said William White< no role > , Henry Sterling & Edward Cook< no role > come to
their Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said William White< no role > , Henry Sterling
and Edward Cook< no role > , on the Twenty sixth day of May in the Year aforesaid,
being Sailing in a certain Boat in and upon the River Thomas in the Parish
aforesaid within the Liberty and County aforesaid, and being about one
hundred Yards from the Westminster Shore at High Water, and Tacking
about towards the Surry side of the said River, and the Weather Gib Street
being fastened, It so happened that by a sudden Gust of Wind the said Boat, in
which the said William White< no role > , Henry Sterling, and Edward Cook< no role > were Sailing
then and there Accidently Casually and by Misfortune was Sunk in
the said River Thomas, and that the said William White< no role > , Henry Sterling
and Edward Cook< no role > in the Waters thereof were then and there severally
Suffocated and drowned, of which said Suffocation Dwelling
they the said William White< no role > , Henry Sterling and Edward Cook< no role > then
and there severally died. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath
aforesaid do say, That the said William White< no role > Henry Sterling and
Edward Cook< no role > , in Manner and by the Means aforesaid, Accidently
Casually and by Misfortune severally came to thin death, and not otherwise.
In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said John Hales< no role >
Foreman of the said Jurors, on the behalf of himself and the rest of
his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals, the Day Year and Place first above written
