Informations taken this Eighth day of May
1771 at the Parish of St. George Honover Square within the
Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Midsex upon an
Inquisition touching the Death of Elizabeth Burton< no role > lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty and County.

Mary< no role > the Wife of ThomasDay< no role > of Sheppard Street in the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square Widow and Sister to
Elizabeth Burton< no role > the Deced, on her Oath saith that the
Deced for a fortnight last past has been afflicted with a
Fever, which has been more violent for the last week
and says thatthatthe Deced by the violence thereof
was Delirious, and at times out of her Mind, Says
that she lodged in the same Room with Deced, in [..]
in Sheppard Street, and attended the Deced in her illness
Says that on Monday last about Four o'Clock in the
Afternoon Dept. observing the Deced to be Delirious
the desired Mrs. Brian a lodger in the Adjoyning room
to go to Deced and not to leave her, whilst Dept. went
down to desire Mrs. Baillie another Lodger to come
up to get the Deced into Bed, Says that she stayed
about Ten Minutes, and on her return met Mr. Brian
upon the Stairs Screaming out where is your Sister
Says that she went into Deced's Room and not
seeing her there ran down Stairs and saw some Man
lifting up the Deced off the Ground in the Back Yard
belonging to the same House, Says that the Deced bled very
much from a Wound upon the left side of her Head, and
at her Month, Says that the Deced neither Moved
or Spake afterwards, and Dept. believes that she was
dead, and that Deced threw herself out of a Window
in her room.

Mary< no role > the Wife of John Brian< no role > a Lodger in a Room
on the some Floor with Deced on her Oath saith, That she
was with the Deced on Monday last in the Afternoon
when Mary Day< no role > went down Stairs Says that the Deced
desired this Dept. to fetch her a bit of Bread, Says that
she went into her own Room out a piece of Bread and
returned with it immediately, That as she returned
she heard a Chair moved in Deced's Room and the Sash there
