Afternoon were sent to lay some Beer for Mr. Machell<lb></lb>
at the Sign of the Barley Mow in Park Street, Says that this<lb></lb>
Dept. was laying a Bed of Hay bands to bring the Buts of<lb></lb>
Beer down upon, when the Deced pulled the first Butt<lb></lb>
off a Dray with great force, and that the Butt with it's<lb></lb>
Weight forced the Deced down to the Ground and fell upon<lb></lb>
his Body, Says that he was not able to get up, and<lb></lb>
complained of being much hurt, Says that the Deced<lb></lb>
was carried on a Chairman's House to <rs type="placeName" id="WACWIC65211_geo398">St. George's Hospital</rs>

Dept. says that no Person but the Deced touched the Butt<lb></lb>
when it fell upon him, Says that the said Butt and the<lb></lb>
strong Beer therein were the Property of Mr. Hammond<lb></lb>

was brought to said Hospital as a Casualty, Says that there<lb></lb>
was no Wound or external appearance, but the Deced<lb></lb>
complained of a violent pain about his Navel and was<lb></lb>
not able to make any Water, Says that he was informed<lb></lb>
that a Butt of Beer had Fallen upon his Belly, that the Deced<lb></lb>
died in said Hospital on Tuesday last (April 16th.) and<lb></lb>
Dept. believes that his death was caused by the Accident<lb></lb>
abovementioned.</p>
