Informations taken this Twenty first
day of March 1771 at Tothill Fields Bridewell
situate in the Parish of St. Margaret within
the Liberty of Westmr . in the County of
Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching the
death of Sarah West< no role > at Prisoner lying dead in the said
Prison

Thomas Purdue< no role > of Shirton Ground Westmr. Apothecary
on his Oath saith That he this day Examined the
Body of the Deced, which was neither Swelled or
discoloured, nor did he Observe any Symptom
that induced him to belive that the Deced had
taken any thing to destroy herself.

Elizabeth Allen< no role > a Prisoner in Tothill Fields
Bridewell on her Oath Saith that she has been Prisoner
there ever since Friday, the Fifteenth instant That
Sarah West< no role > the Deced was brought to said Prison
on Monday last the 18th. Instant, Says That between
Eight and Nine o' Clock that Night Deced came into
the Room where she was to lye, and where Dept. lay
having a Bottle in her Hand with some Ale in it,
Says that the Deced appeared to be very ill, and
complained very much of her Head and Bowels,
Says that Deced went to Bed there with Ann Young< no role >
and that she heard Deced Vomit several times in
the Morning in Bed, That she lay in Bed all day on
Tuesday, Says that her Reaching continued and
was increased on Tuesday Night, That she was
very bad yesterday Morning, and that she was then
brought down, and put into a Bed on a Ground Room
in order as Dept. believes, to be taken more care of
Says that Deced then desired this Dept to make her
some
