Informations taken this Eleventh day
of January 1771 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the City & Liberty of Westmr . in the County of
Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching the Death
of William Kirkwood< no role > lying dead in the said Parish
City Liberty and County.

Archdall Harris< no role > of New Palac Yard Westmr . Surgeon
on his Oath saith That he has this day Examined the
Body of William Kirkwood< no role > the Deced, and found no
Marks of violence thereupon, and believes that
the Deced died a natural Death.

Benjamin Pudner< no role > of Bow Street Westmr . Shoemaker
on his Oath saith That he went to the Sign of the Crown
in Tufton Street Westmr . on Monday Night last abt. Eight o'Clock and
found Mr. Kirkwood the Deced there quite Drunk and
unable to stand or drink any more, Says that the Deced desire
this Dept. to help him home, Says that they come from
thence together between Nine and Ten o' Clock and Dept.
with some Assistance helped him home to his Lodging
in Cork Cutters Alley Long Ditch Westmr. and laid the
Deced upon the Bed in his Cloaths, and left him there.

Mary Ellsey< no role > Widow a Lodger on the Ground Floor in
Cork Cutters Alley in a Room opposite to the Room in
which the Deced lodged, on her Oath saith That on
Monday Night last (Jany. 7th.) the Deced was brought
home by two Men about Eleven o' Clock, Says that after
the Men were gone away, she heard the Deced call to
her dixiring for to light his Candle, as she had after
done before when Deced came home Drunk, but this
Dept. being in Bed she did not get up to light Deced
Candle, Says that a Quarter before Twelve o' Clock, Mary
(whose Sir name Dept. does not know) who lived with the
Deced
