with him, Deponent answered as he had done the Man no
hurt and had only Drawn him on the Land he would not go
back unless he was Obbjected, the Marine seemed inclined to
go,and as he was in Liguor Deponent Persuaded him to the
Contrary and he and the Marine went to their Respective
homes. Deponent says he heard a Man who was Present at
the time the Deced was taken out of the Water says, he believed
to the best of his Knowledge he saw the Deced about 2 Hours
before walking on the Bank by himself, and that he appeared
to be very much in LiquorDeponent says he saw no
Wound or Bruise of any kind on his head, and that he was
Bald-headed

about half on hour after 6 on Friday Morning last, that Depot

American Quartered at Deponent House, that Deponent
and Scott went down to Milbank and saw the Deceased who
was then Removed with the Spread Eagle , as they went along
they met a Marrine & a Soldier and Scott said to Deponent
Ponting to the Marine that is the Man that Pulled him
out, Deponent then desired them to go back, one refused
Saying they could do no good, the other seemed willing, but
afterwards would not go as his Companion did not. Deponent
and Scott went homeDeponent says the Deced was
Subject to Liquor and that when so he was Frequently with
Woman and this Deponent very often has Fetched him home
when he saw him in that Condition:
