Informations taken this 19th. day of June 1769 at
the Parish of St Margaret within the City & Liberty of
Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the Death of a New born Female Child lying
dead in the said Parish City Liberty and County.

Margaret Latus< no role > Housekeeper to Agnes Marton< no role > & Jane Marton< no role >
in Margaret Street in the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr . Spinster
in her Oath saith, That Elizabeth Gibbon< no role > came to live Servant
with Mr. Marton on the 27th. day of February last past in the
capacity of Cock, Says that the said Elizabeth Gibbon< no role > appeared
to be in Health and did her Business there, Says that when
she went into the Kitchen to Breakfast yesterday Morning
about Nine o'Clock, she saw said Eliz: Gibbon Sitting down there
and observing her to took pale, asked her if she had been Sick,
to which she answered that she had had the Cholick and a from
in her Back, and on her being asked if she had any particular
reason for it. answered that she had, upon which Dept. gave
her a Little Shrub in a Tea cup, which she Drank, Says that
she this Dept. went into a Room two pair of Stairs for a Petticoat
about Ten o'Clock and saw the Died Eliz. Gibbon lying upon her
Bed there, who told Dept. that she was better, Says that after
she was come from Church she went up Stairs to said Gibbons
who seemed to be going to sleep and told Dept. that she was better,
Says that she went down Stairs, and in less than an hour sent
a little Girl up to ask said Gibbon if she would have some
Broth, that the Girl came down immediately and said that
Cook's Feet were Bloody, upon which Ann Langland< no role > the
House maid went up Stairs, and on her return informed Dept.
that she met the Cook coming downout of theGarret Stairs, upon which
this Dept. was frightened and took and Broth to said Gibbon who
took the Bason [..] of Dept. and Dept. then observedrg her Hand
to be Bloody, asked her what was the Matter to which said Gibbon
answered that she fancied she had done it when she was asleep,
upon which Dept. went down and acquainted her Mistresses
who ordered her to go and Search the Garret, which she did but
found nothing, That she went up a second time and the
House maid followed, when they saw the End of an Apron string hanging
