the Hurt from any Person whatever, nor did
he say in Depts. hearing where he received it.
And this Depts. says that the FriendsWife and Daughtersof
the Deced were very importunate to remove the Body
of the Deced out of the Hospital.

John Price< no role > (a Lodger at Mr. Williams in Vinigar
Yard , in the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields ) Taylor on his
Oath saith, That on Thursday Decr. 8th. he met Andrew
Thomas
< no role > the Deced in Piccadilly near the End of
Clarges Street , coming to Town, the Deced appearing
to be in Liquor, saying that he had been drinking
wine and wished the Depont. had been with him,
Says that Deced told Dept. that he would give him a
Pint of Beer if he would go with him, Says that
he turned back and came with Decedto the End of Dover
Street , Says that he there met his Son in Law and
stopped to speak to him, and that Deced walked up
Dover Street , Says that Deced had not gone above Twenty
Yards in said Street when Deponent saw him fall
down an Area belonging to an House in said Street
Says that he immediately went to Deced and found
the Deced lying on his face upon the Stone Steps leading
to the Area with his Head towards the bottom of the Steps
Says that a Man Servant who stood in thebothArea
came to Deced and helped Dept. to lift Deced to the
bottom of the Steps. Says that the Deced's Head and face
were very Bloody, but Dept. did not then see the Wound,
that the Deced was not able to make Dept. any Answer,
Says that he left Deced in the Area and went to inform
the Deced's Wife of the Accident, who went with Dept.
immediately to Dover Street , where Dept. was informed
by a Man in the same House where Deced fell, that he
was carried to St. George's Hospital by two Chairman
on their Horse, Says that he went with Mrs. Thomas
to

to said Hospital, but Dept. did not go up Stairs to Deced
says that Mrs. Thomas did go up, and on her return told
Dept. that she had seen Deced and that he was asleep
Says that there was no Mob or Disturbance in
Piccadilly at the time Dept. met the Deced, nor any
between that place and Dover Street , and Says that
he did not see any Person go along Dover Street
at the time Deced fell down the Area. Says that
the Deced had reced no Wound to Depts. knowledge
when he parted with Dept. at the End of Dover Street
and believes that he reced the Hurt upon his Head
by falling down the Area abovementioned, and that
his fall was Accidental, the Iron Gate of said Area
being open when Dept. went to the Deceased.

Hannah< no role > late the Wife of Andrew Thomas< no role > the Deced on
her Oath saith, That the Deced went out on Thursday
the 8th. day of this Instant about Eight o'Clock in the Morning
Says that Mr. Price about Ten o'Clock the same Morning
came to Dept. and informed her that the Deced had fallen
down into an Area in Dover Street , and bled very much
upon which she went with Mr. Price to Dover Street
and upon knocking at the Door of the House to which the Area
belonged was told by Mary that the Deced was carried to Drury Lane
Says that she returned home, and not fining Deced there
She went to St. George's Hospital with Mr. Price, Says
that she saw Deced in said Hospital asleep, Says
that she saw Deced on Sunday Decr. 11th. and drank
Tea with him there that the Deced was then Sensible, and
that he told her that he fell down in Dover Street , & Says
that he never complained to her of being ill used by
any Body.
