Informations taken this Twenty First day of
November 1768 at the Parish of St. George Hanover
Square within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County
of Middlesex on an Inquisition touching the
Death of Nicholas Bone< no role > , John Dayson< no role > and James
Cusack
< no role > severally lying dead in the said Parish
Liberty and County.

Charles Marey< no role > a Lodger at Mrs. Alexander a Milliner in
North Audley Street in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square
Bricklayer on his Oath saith. That he Acted as Foreman to
Mr. Edward Grey< no role > of Queen Street in said Parish Builder
in certain New Houses which said Mr. Grey is now Building
on Hay Hill in said Parish, Says that he was last Saturday
upon one of said Houses (being the Corner of Hay Hill)
giving directions to the workmen at Work there, between
three and four o'Clock in the Afternoon, and observing
that one of the Bricks on the Crown of an Ash built
in the Middle of the Cross Wall of the House near the Stair Case, was loose,
upon which he called to a Carpenter to put up a Centre
in order to secure the Arch, Says that the Carpenter
was coming up the Ladder on the outside of the House
but before he got up, Dept. observed the Arch to give Way
and immediately fell down with one half of the said
Cross Wall, and immediately after the other part of the
said Cross Wall came down, (Which said Cross Wall was
carried up to the height of four Stories) Says that Nicholas
Bone
< no role > , John Dayson< no role > , and James Cusack
were Labourers at the Building, and that he saw
Nicholas Bone< no role > and John Dayson< no role > dug out of the Rubbish
the same day, both being dead, and said Dayson's [..]
Scull being Fractured and Bloody, Says that he saw
said James Cusack's Body carrid out of the Buildings to day
having been dug out from under the Rubbish as Dept. was
informed. Says that he had no Intimation of the Wall
being in a Dangerous Way, nor can he Account for its falling
Says that the Bricks used in the said Cross Wall are the Property
of said Edward Grey< no role > , (as Dept. verily believes) being in Quantity above
