Informations taken this Thirteenth day of July
1767 at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square within
the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Middlesex , on
an Inquisition touching the Death of a Male
Infant Child lying dead in the said Parish
Liberty and County.

Jane Hardy< no role > the Wife of Slaughter Hardy< no role > of the Willow
Walk in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square on her
Oath saith, That her Son Thomas Hardy< no role > a Lad about
Twelve Years of Age, went out of this Depts. House to gether
Worms for his Birds Yesterday Morning between Seven
and eight o'Clock, Says that he returned in a few Minutes
and told this Dept. that a Man had just pulled a Ban Box
out of the Ditch with a Child in it, upon whichDept.
Dept. went to the Child and saw it Dead in the Bandles
and appeared to Dept. to have been Drowned, there being
a large Quantity of Water in the Ditch from whence it was
taken, Says that the said Child was tied round with
Strings in three different parts, Vizt. around the Body, with
the Hands confined, about the Knees, and about the Ancle
and Says that the Child was a Male Child

Surgeon on his Oath saith, That he this day Examined a
Male Child and is of Opinion that he was either Drow
or Suffocated in a Band Box
