in the County of Middlesex }
to Wit

An Inquisition Indented taken fro Our Sovereign Lord
the King at the Parish of St. John the Evangelist in the City of Westmr. within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter
of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter Westminster in the County of Middlesex , the Second day of
Mayin the Seventh Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the
third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith
and so forth before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City
and Liberty, On View of the Body of a new born Male Child then and there lying dead, upon the
Oath of Robert Watson< no role > , George Mallard< no role > , Thomas Lambert< no role > , John Hollis< no role > , Edward Pitts< no role > ,
Samuel Clarke< no role > , John Morris< no role > , Richard Small< no role > , Richard Vaughan< no role > Robert Bigby< no role > , James

< no role > and Thomas Vaughan< no role > good and lawfull Men of the said Liberty duly
Chosen, who being then and there duly Sworn and Charged to inquire for our said Lord the King, when
how and by what Means the said New born Male Child come to his Death, do upon their Oath say
That on the First day of May in the Year aforesaid a certain Woman unknown did bring forth the
said Male Child alive, and that on the same day and Year a certain Person or Persons to the
Jurors aforesaid as yet unknown, with Force and Arms at the Parish aforesaid within
the City Liberty and County aforesaid, in and upon the said Male Child, in the Peace of God and
of our said Lord the King then and there being, feloniously wilfully and of his her or their Malice
for thought did make an assault; And that the said person or persons to the Jurors aforesaid
unknown did then and there feloniously wilfully and of his [..] or their Malice fore thought
Choak and Strangle the said Male Child, of which said choaking, and strangling the said
Male Child then and there instantly died. And that the said Person or Persons unknown
of his her or their Malice fore thought the Male Child aforesaid in Manner and form
aforesaid did then and there kill and Murder against the Peace of our said Lord the King
his Crown and Dignity. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the
said Robert Watson< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors, on the behalf of himself and the rest
of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals,
the Day Year and Place first above written
