Informations taken this Twenty sixth day
of March 1767 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of Westminster in the County
of Middlesex (Vizt. at Knightsbridge ) on an
Inquisition touching the Death of a New born
Male Child lying Dead in the said Parish
Liberty and County.

John [..] by Servant to William Bumford< no role > of Park
Street in the Parish of Sr. George Hanover Square Chandler
on his Oath saith, That on Tuesday last about One o'Clock
this Deponent was going along Hyde Park near the side
of the Serpenture River, Says that he saw a Child floating
in the said Serpentine River about half a Yard from the
Shore, Says that he stepped into the Water, and took hold
of the Deced's hands, and pulled it on Shore in the Warris [..] St. Margaret and their
found it to be a Male Child, Says that the Child was dead [..]
& appeared to have been in the Water some time, Says that he went [..]
to John Wilder< no role > the Park keeper at Grosvenor Gate
and acquainted him therewith

Archdall Harris< no role > of Queen Street in the Parish
of St. Margaret Westmr . Surgeon on his Oath saith
That he this day opened the Body of a Male Child
and tried the Experiment of putting the Lungs into
Water, Says that the Lungs did not Sink in the
Water, and that he believers the said Male Child
was born alive Says that the Navel String of said
Child was Not tied nor any care taken for its
Preservation, but that he observed no Marks of violene [..]
upon said Child.
