the Deced has been a Lodger in<lb></lb>
one of the Garrets in Depts. House for about six week last past,<lb></lb>
Says that he saw the Deced go out East Sunday Morning, That<lb></lb>
being at Dinner yesterday between the hours of one & two<lb></lb>
in the Afternoon, Dept. saw <rs type="persName" id="WACWIC65206_n1158-3">Sarah Burgaine</rs>

come into the House and immediately go up Stairs, Says that<lb></lb>
he heard said Sarah knock, and several times call Joseph<lb></lb>
Says that in about a Quarter of an hom said Sarah come<lb></lb>
down Stairs and told Dept. that the found the Door of her Room<lb></lb>
looked, that she called to him, and had no Answer, and that she<lb></lb>
had looked thro' the Key hole, but could not see her Husband on<lb></lb>
the Bed, Upon which this Dept. and <rs type="persName" id="WACWIC65206_n1158-4">William Norton</rs>

Lodges went up Stairs, Says that he found the Deced's room<lb></lb>
Door locked and the Key in the Lock on the inside of the Door,<lb></lb>
Says that said <rs type="persName" id="WACWIC65206_n1158-5">William Norton</rs>

<interp inst="WACWIC65206_n1158-5" type="surname" value="Norton"></interp>

with a Chesil forced open the Door<lb></lb>
and went into the Room, and this Dept. immediately followed<lb></lb>
and afterwards Sarah Burgaine, Says that he than saw the<lb></lb>
Deced hanging behind the Door in a Corner of the Room, with<lb></lb>
a Silk Handkerchief fastened about his Neck, and over the<lb></lb>
top of a Chair, the Deced's knees being very near the Floor, Says<lb></lb>
that he lift up the Deced and said Mr. Norton with the Chesil<lb></lb>
cut the Handkerchief by which the Deced was hanging, Says<lb></lb>
that the Deced's, hands were then cold that Mr. Rayn a Surgeon<lb></lb>
was fetched who bled the Deced in<del>bled the Deced</del>
both Arms, but<lb></lb>
the Deced bled very little, and Mr. Rayn said that the Deced was<lb></lb>
a Dead Man, and Dept. observed no Signs of Life in him and<lb></lb>
Dept. believes that the Deced housed himself Says that the<lb></lb>
Deced appeared to be a Sober Man, and kept good hours, but<lb></lb>
always very serious,</p>
