to Wit

An Inquisition Indented taken for Our Sovereign Lord
the King at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter
of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter Westminster in the County of Middlesex , the Ninth
Day of Junein the Sixth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of
the Faith and so Forth before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the
King for the said City and Liberty On View of the Body of a New born Female Child, then
and there lying Dead, upon the Oath of Robert Brooks< no role > , George Ragsdale< no role > , Thomas Cross< no role > , Thomas

< no role > , John Bishop< no role > , and Robert Lambert< no role > , good and lawful Men of the said Liberty
duly chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and Charged to inquire for Our said Lord the
King when, how and by what Means the said Female Child came to her Death, do
upon their Oath say, That Elizabeth Wood< no role > This name instance is in set 7024391. late of the Parish aforesaid within the Liberty and County aforesaid
on the Eighth day of June in the Year aforesaid, being then and there big with the said New born Female Child
afterwards to wit, on the same Day and Year at the Parish aforesaid, within the Liberty and County aforesaid
the said Female Child, alone and secretly from her Body, did bring forth alive, And that the said Elizabeth Wood< no role >
not having the fear of God before her Eyes, but moved and seduced by the Instigation of the Devil, afterwards,
to wit, on the same day and Year, with force and Arms at the Parish aforesaid within the Liberty and County
aforesaid, in and upon the said [..] Female Child, so alive, and in the [..] of god and of our [..]
the King then and there being, Feloniously wilfully and of her Malice fore thought, did make an Assault; And
that the said Elizabeth Wood< no role > , her the said New born Female Child, did then and there take into both her Hands, and
her the said New born Female Child into a certain Privy or Necessary House there situate, then andthere
feloniously, wilfully, and of her Malice fore thought, did violently, cast throw down; by Means whereof
she the said New born Female Child, in the soil or Filth then and there contained in the said Privy or
Necessary House, was then and there Suffocated and Smothered, of which said Suffocation and Smothering
she the said new born Female Child then and there instantly died. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their
Oath aforesaid, do say, that the said Elizabeth Wood< no role > her the said new born Female Child, in Manner and by the
Means aforesaid, feloniously, wilfully, and of her Malice fore thought, did Kill and Murder
against the Peace of our said Lord the King, his Crown and dignity. And that the said Elizabeth

< no role > at the time of the doing and committing of the Felony and Murder aforesaid or elsewhere
to the Knowledge or Notice of the said Jurors. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner
as the said Robert Brooks< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors, on the behalf of himself and the rest of
his said fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the
Day Year and Place first above written
