Informations taken this Twenty third day of May
1766 at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County Midsex
on an Inquisition taken on view of the Body of
Benjamin Ramsey< no role > lying Dead in the said Parish
Liberty and County.

Daniel Toon< no role > of the Next Houses in the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square Gardener on his Oath saith, That on Wednesday
last Dept. was at Work for Mr. Heathcote a Gardener at the
Neat Houses, Says that about two o'Clock in the Afternoon of that
day he saw the Deced Benjamin Ramsey< no role > cutting down the
Weeds by the side of a Ditch which Divided Mr. Heathcote's
Ground from Mr. Gant another Gardener , for whom the
Deced worked, Says that a little after Six o'Clock the same
Evening Deponent was crossing the Ditch into Mr. Gants
Ground, when he saw the Deced lying in the Ditch with his
face downwards, in the Mud, there being but little Water
in the Ditch, the Deced's Breeches being unbuttoned and
down over his Legs, Says that the Deced was then Dead
and (as Dept. believes) Suffocated in the Mud. Dept. says
that he called out, and several Gardeners immediately
came there, who assisted this Dept. to pull the Deced out
of the Mud, Says that he saw no Persons near the Deced
any time on Wednesday Afternoon, and Dept. believes
that the Deced fell into the Mud.

Richard Gant< no role > of the Neat Houses Gardener on his Oath
saith, That the Deced worked for him on Wednesday last
in the Afternoon in cutting down Woods by a Ditch side,
Says that about three weeks ago while the Deced was at work
he was Seized with a fit, and continued therein about ten
Minutes, and says that the Deced informed him that he had
been Subject of fits for some Years.
