Informations taken this Sixth day of February
1766 at the Parish of St. Martin on the Fields within
the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Middlesex , on
an Inquisition touching the Death of a Woman
unknown lying Dead in the said Parish Liberty and
County.

Thomas Ellmer< no role > of Mary gold Stairs in the Parish
of Christ Church Surry Waterman on his Oath saith
that yesterday between twelve and one o'Clock at noon,
he this Deponent was informed by John Kingman< no role > another
Waterman that Woman by drowned at Hungerford Stairs ,
upon which Dept. went down and on the lower side of the
Cornway there within about twelve Yards of the Co [..] way,
Dept. saw the Deced lying on her back in the Mud and covered
with Water in the River Thomas in the Parish of St. Margaret
in the Fields, the Tide Ebbling at that time Says that he drew the Deced to the Sho [..] Says that he
does not know the Deced, that she had no Shoes on when he saw her but was
otherwise well dressed, Says that She was then Dead, and
that he observed no Marks of Violence on the Deced

John Kingman< no role > of the Parish of St. Saviour Southwark
Waterman on his Oath saith that he was yesterday about noon
at Hungerford Stairs , and that he saw a little below the
couceway there, the Cloaths which the Deced had on floating
on the water in the River Thames , Says that he soon after
perceived that the Deced lay in the Mud upon her [..] but that he die
not go to her, Says that he acquainted Thomas Ellmer
another Waterman with what he had seen and immediately
went to acquaint the Coroner therewith, Says that he
returned soon, and found the Deced drawn to the Shore
Says that she was then dead, but that he observed no mark
of Violence on the Deced.
