Informations Taken this Twenty first
day of December 1765 at the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square within the Liberty of Westmr
in the County of Middlesex on an Inquisition
touching the Death of Swain Jenkins< no role > lying
Dead in the said Parish Liberty and County

Giles Powell< no role > of South Audley Street in the Parish
of St. George Hanover Square Apothecary on his Oath saith
That he has attended Swain Jenkins the Deced about
a fortnight last past, Says that the Deced had a Slow Nervous
Fever which at times greatly affected his Memory
Says that the Fever continued, and Dept. they which
not a fit person to be left alone, Says that a Blister
was applied, and all other Methods used by Dept.
and Dr. Cadogan who Attended the Deced, and Deponent
Says that he verily believes that the Deced was
Delirious and out of his Mind by the violence
of his Disorder.

of Dean Street in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square
Esqr . in the Capacity of Cook, on her Oath saith, That about
three o'Clock yesterday afternoon Dept. was at Dinner
in her Masters Kitchen, when Elizabeth Jenkins< no role > Wife to
the Deced came down Stairs with some dirty waters and
other Necessaries which she and her Husband the Deced
had met for Dinner in a Room two pair of Stairs,
Says that said Elizabeth Jenkins< no role > put the Things down in
the Kitchin and went up Stairs directly, says that when
she was upon the Kitchin Stairs Dept. heard the Report of a Pistol
above Stairs, upon Which Dept. went up Stairs unto her
Master's Study on the first Floor, and there saw the Deced
lying upon his Back on the Floor, with a large Pistol lying by
his side, Says that she put her hands to the Deced's Head, and
that much Blood then came out of a wound in his Head, on the right
Side and says that Deced was then Dead and Dept.
believes that he shot himself with the Pistol that lay on
the Floor, and Says that there was no other Person at
that time above Stairs in the House
