Informations of Witness taken this Sixth day of April
1765 at the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden within
the Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex , on
an Inquisition taken on View of the Body of Mary Oxley< no role >
lying Dead in the said Parish Liberty and County.

Sarah Wise< no role > the Wife of James Wise< no role > of Covent Garden Coffeeman
on her Oath saith, That she was at home yesterday about twelve
or One o'Clock at Noon when Mary Oxley< no role > the Deced came into
her House, Says that the Deced asked a Chairman (whose Name
Dept. does not know) if he would give her some Geneva, to which
the Chairman said that he would give her so much as she
would Drink, Says that some Geneva was called for and the
Deced drank some of it and the Chairman drank part of
it with her, Says that the Measure called for was half a
Quarter of a Pint, and that after they had [..] emptied
the Measure the Chairman asked Deced if she would have
more, and that Deced said she would, Says that she
heard the Chairman ask the Deced the same Qughon two
or three times, and that Deced always Answered that she would
have more, Deponent says that Deced drank in the whole
Five or Six half Quarters of Geneva, and that Deced
afterwards was very much Intoxicated and not able
to stand, Deponent says that she and another Person
took hold of Deced's Arms and led her out of the House
and set her in a Chair before the Door, but Deced could not
Sit in the Chair and dropped down upon the Ground, being
in a Fit as Dept. thought Says a Surgeon came there
who Bled the Deced, in her Arm but the Deced bled very
little Says that Deced was then Speechless and died very
soon after. Dept. says that the Deced always desired to have
more Geneva, and that it was not forced upon her by
any Person in Deponent House, as she verily believes,
