day of March 1765 at the Parish of St. John
the Evangelist
within the City & Liberty of
Westmr. in the County of Middlesex
on an
Inquisition taken on View of the Body of
a Man Unknown lying Dead in the said
Parish City Liberty and County.

Westmr. Waterman
on his Oath saith That he
was at the Horse Ferry Westmr. about Five o Clock in the
Afternoon of Saturday last, and that he was there informed
by a Man (whose Name Dept does not Know) that a Man
lay Drowned on the Shore upon Mill Bank
a little higher
than Lord Grorvenor's House, Deponent says that he walked
up there and saw the Deced lye upon the Shore a part of him in the Thames
in the
Parish of St. John the Evengelist, Says that he fetched his
Boat and carried the Deced in his Boat to the Horse Fer [..]
and laid the Deced on the Shore there before Mr. Justices
House Says that the Deced was Deced when Dept. first
saw him but not Stiff, Dept. says that he believes
the Deced was Drowned, but that he observed no
Marks of Violence upon the Deced

. Labourer
on his Oath saith that he was standing upon Mill Bank
on Saturday last about five o Clock in the Afternoon
and leaning over the well before Lord Grosvenor's House
he saw a Hat in the Thames floating, Says that he went
down in order to get hold of the Hat, and near the
Hat saw the Deceds Cloaths above the water, Says that
he put the Skull under the Deced and lifted him up
and left him there, Says that the Deced was then
Dead but Dept. observed no Marks of Violence upon the
Deced.
