Stiff and Dept. believes that he was then Dead, Says that
he acquainted Mr. Thornthwaite and Mr. Beckett two of
the Neighbours therewith says that they come with Dept.
to Deced, and Dept. and Mr. Beckett lift up the Deced and that
Mr Thorithwaite cut the Cord by which the Deced hung, Says
that the Deced was Dead. Says that Deced was frequently
Intoxicated with Liquor and seemed to be Stupid, and
very often abused his Wife.

Mary Pepper< no role > later the Wife of Thomas Pepper< no role > the Deced on her
Oath saith, that yesterday Morning Dept. went to Mr. Martin's
(where Deced lodged) to inquire for Deced, says that she desired
Mr. Martin to go up Stairs to See if Deced was in his Room
Says that Mr. Martin went up Stairs, and in a few Minutes
returned and informed Dept. that he found Deced hanging
in his Room. Dept. says that about two Years since, she
came into her Lodging Room in Reeves's Mews and found
the Deced with a Cord tied about his Neck and going to hang himself,
and Dept. believes that he has not since that time been in
his perfect Sences, but that he has particularly of late
been much work than usual
