Informations taken this Sixth day of
December 1764 at the Parish of St.James within
the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Middlesex
on an Inquisition taken on View of the Body
of John Brett< no role > lying Dead in the said Parish
Liberty and County

Hannah Brett< no role > of Cross Street in the Parish of St. James
Wife of the Deced on her Oath saith, That on Tuesday Night
last about six o clock Deced came home and desired Deponent to get him
some Supper against Nine O' Clock,and says that Deced
then went out but Dept. cannot say where, says that
the Deced not coming home to supper Dept. went between
Nine and ten o' Clock to look for Deced, Says that she
knocked at the Stall where Deced used to Work and called
to Deced but having no Answer and Seeing no light
in the Stall, Deponent went away, Says that she could
hear nothing of Deced until yesterday Morning [..]
between ten & Eleven O' Clock, when Mary Brett< no role >
Daughter to Dept. informed her that her Fathers
Stall Door was opennot fail upon which Dept went to the
Stall and pulled the Door open, and thereupon saw
the Deced in the Stall, leaning to the right side says as Dept. believes
that she called in some of the Neighbours who lifted
the Deced up, after which Dept. went in, and put
her hand upon the Deced's face and found it cold
and Dept. believes that he was then Dead, Deponent
says that the Stall was not locked when Dept. went
to it yesterday Morning and found the Deced Dead.
