Ninth Day of May 1763 on an
Inquisition on View of the Body
of Mary Adams< no role > Spinster lying dead
at the Parish of Saint George
Hanover Square within the Libty
aforesaid.

George Frankland< no role > of Oxford Street Apothecary
on his Oath saith that last Saturday in the
afternoon the deced came to Dept. Shop and asked
him to let her have two penny worth of White
Arsenick Dept. asked what it was for, to which
deced replied she could not tell Dept. then answered
be should not let her have any, upon which she said
you have got none to which he replyed he had
enough but wod. let her have none unless he
was satisfied for what use the wanted it. Says
that about two hours afterwards the deced came again
with another Woman known to Dept. but whose Name Dept. cannot recollect
and the Woman told Dept. he might safely let her
haveitthe Arsenick for that the deced had informed her that
it was to poison Rats and that her Master had sent
her for it. Says that thereupon Dept. ordered his
Apprentice to serve the deced with two penny worth
says that on imagining Some bed use might be made
of it, it was delivered by his directions to the Woman
with the deced who promised Dept. to deliver it
to the deceds Master. That about ten o' Clock that
night Dept. was sent for to the deced, being informed
she had poisoned herself, says he went and ordered the
deced a Vomit, and part of the Arsenick came up
and Dept. taxed her with taking it which the deceds
acknowledged but would assign no reason for so doing,
says Dept. apprehended the Dept. to be past recovery
and left her, and has heard she is since dead.
