to Wit.


An Inquisition Indented, taken Our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields , within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the
Collegiate Church of St. Peter Westminster , in the County of Middlesex , the Ninth day of April in the
Third Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain
France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman
Coroner of our said Lord the King, for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of Michael
Lyon
< no role > then and there lying Dead, upon the Oath of William Flack< no role > This name instance is in set 253. , William Marcellus< no role > This name instance is in set 254.
Alsop Archer< no role > , Thomas Morgan< no role > , Richard Leyford< no role > , Mark Shotton< no role > , Samuel Hussey< no role > ,
Thomas Porter< no role > , Thomas Oldfield< no role > , Alexander Forrest< no role > , John Dick< no role > , John Pegg< no role > , George Holland< no role >
and Charles Fourdrinier< no role > good and lawfull Men of the said Liberty, duty chosen,
who being then and there duty Sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord, the King, when
how and by what Means the said Michael Lyon< no role > came to his Death, do upon their Oath say
That on the said Eighth day of April in the Year aforesaid, the said Michael Lyon< no role > then being a
Bricklayer's Labourer and employed in pulling down an old uninhabited House situate in
a place called Durham Yard in the said Parish of St. Martin in the Fields within the Liberty and
County aforesaid, It so happened that part of the said Building did then and there Accidentally
Casually and by Misfortune fall down upon the Head of the said Michael Lyon< no role > , and fracture
the Scull of the said Michael Lyon< no role > , And the said Michael Lyon< no role > did then and there fall under the Rubbist
and Materials of the said Building, and was therein Suffocated and Smothered, of which said Fracture Suffocation and
Smothering he the said Michael Lyon< no role > then and there instantly Died. And so the Jurors aforesaid, upon
their Oath aforesaid, do say, that the said Michael Lyon< no role > in Manner and by the Means aforesaid, Accidentally
Casually and by Misfortune came to his Death, and not otherwise. In Witness whereof as
well the said Coroner, as the said William Flack< no role > This name instance is in set 253. Foreman of the said Jurors, on behalf
of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their Hands
and Seals the Day Year and Place first above written
