Veal otherwise Wilson
For a Misdemeanor

The said Deft Judith Maketh Oath and Saith That
Alexander Elvin< no role > is a Material Witness for his Deponent
in her Defence on the above Prosecution and without
whose Testimony she Cannot safely proceed to Tryall
And saith that the said Alexander is a person that deals in
Stockings & frequently goes into the Country on such his
Business And further Saith that She [..] hath made &
Caused to be made diligent Inquiryafter the said Alexanderat least for ten Days last past after
the said Alexander at his place of above in Order to have
had him here at this Session as a Witness for her this Dept
but notwithstanding her Utmost Endeavours was not able to meet with him And saith that on
such Enquiry she was Informed and which she believes
to be true that the said Alexander was then out of
Town and would Continue so some Time And Saith that
in Case she Could have had the said Alexander here as
a Witness she would have taken her Tryall at this
present Session But verily believes she shall be able
and will use her Utmost Endeavours to have him
here by the next.
