We have Allowed Mr George Whitfield< no role > the
Apothecary a Gratuity of £40 for the Year last past for
His Extra Service to this Hospital

We have recd. a Report from Nathaniel Polhill< no role >
& Benjamin Way< no role > Esqrs : Two of the Governors appointed in a
sub Committee to him the Hospital Estate at Tibshelfe in
Derbyshire.

The Report of Nathaniel Pothill & Benjamin
Way Esqrs: two of the Governors on their view of the Hospital
Estate at Tibshelfe in Derbyshire in the Month of October
1778.

In Pursuance of the Report of the sub Commee
on the 22d: June 1776. and the Resolutions of the Grand
Committee thereon. We are now to acquaint you that an
Act of Parliament was applied for and Obtained in the
ensuing Session to enclose the Two Commons at Tibshelfe
called the Upper & Nether Meors-That on our View of the
said Lands, We had the Satisfaction to find the Nether
Common or Moor, not only enclosed, but every Allotment
in it, whether belonging to the Hospital Tenants, or the
Fruholders in the Parish of Tibshelfe, under excellent
Cultivation.A Considerable Part of the Upper Common
or Moor is so likewise We may say all of it except the
Allotment to the Duke of Devonshire and to the
Hospital which from the Nature of the Soil, from
Old Quarries & Coal Pitts, will require much labor
and Expence to render it fit for the Plough.

The Lease of all our Farms expired at Michs
1777. and the find that our Surveyor . Mr. Benjamin
Chambers
< no role > , has faithfully observed His Directions by
treating with the several Tenants, who were the real
Occupiers of their Farms, for Nem Leases, and with
such other reputablas & Substantial Persons as he found
