Mr: Treasurer having reported to this Committee that he had
received a Letter from the Earl of Pomfret. And the same being read And his
Lordship thereby offering to purchase the whole of the Hospitals Estate at Sunbury at
such price as Mr: Jupp. the Hospitals Surveyor should set upon it.

Resolved

That his Lordship be apprized that the Governors of this Hospital
never part with their Estates by the Mode of Appraizement mentioned by his Lordship
But that if his Lordship will be pleased to make any Proposal it will be laid before
the Committee And that (if it shall be thought sufficiently advantageous) the Hospital
will be willing (tho they do not want to part with the Estate) to treat with his Lordship
for the Sale thereof.

Grand Committee 13th: Octr: 1767

Mr: Treasurer having laid before the Committee a Letter he had
received from the Earl of Pomfret offering the Sum of £2000 for the Sunbury Estate
and desiring an Answer.

Resolved

That his Lordship be acquainted That the Estate having been
accurately surveyed the Committee was well assured. it was worth very near £3000
And that to oblige his Lordship they will accept of that Sum clear of all Expences
attending the Sale thereof And the procuring the necessary Act of Parliament to
enable them to alienate the Same.

Grand Committee 25th: Jany: 1768.

Mr: Treasurer having laid before the Committee a Letter from the
Earl of Pomfret agreeing to give £3000 for the Sunbury Estate free of all Expences
And to be at the Charge of procuring the Act of Parliament.

And the Question being put

That this Court doth Agree to the said several Resolutions of the
Committee and approve of and Confirm their proceedings and Agreement for the Sale
of the said Estate for the Sum of £3000 free from all Expences.

It was Unanimously resolved in the Affirmative.
