To the Grand Comittee of Governors of St: Thomas Hospital

Wee whose names are Subscribed being appointed a Comittee
by the General Court to inspect the bill and Accompts of Christophr
Todd
< no role > Apothecary for Druggs and Medicines prescribed by Doctor
Torlesse, And delivered by the said Christopher Todd< no role > to the
Patients in this Hospital from the Sixth day of August 1691
Untill the Ninth of November following being Thirteen weeks
and a halfe, Wee have accordingly Examined the bill of the
Said Christopher Todd< no role > , and Compared it with the prescriptions
of the said Doctr. Torlesse and do humbly Certifie as followeth (vizt.)

That the said Christopher Todd< no role > hath not Charged to this house any
Medicines or Druggs in his bill, but only such as were prescribed
to the patients in a booke under the Dockers own hand, and as it
appears to us he did truly and faithfully cause the same to be
dispenced and Administred and he is ready to Attest the
Same upon Oath (if thereunto required)

Wee have also Considered the Several prescriptions of the
Said Doctor and the Prices of all the ingredients thereof
and wee do find the same to be valued by the said Christophr
Todd
< no role > att the Lowest Rate that ought to be paid for such
medicines by the poorest patients, or any Hospital, and
having Computed all the Pticulars and Sum'd up the Totall
thereof the same do amount to £152:15s: which in our
humble opinions ought to be paid Forthwith onto him

Wee also think it [..] Convenient to lay before you. That
the said Christophr. Todd< no role > alledgeth (and as he affirms can
produce good proofe thereof) that the said Doctor did Consantly
every Saturday Visitt the Several Wards in the Hospital and
did then direct several medicines for the patients therein
besides those prescribed in the two usual dayes which are
in the said bill, and the Account thereof the said Christophr.
Todd
< no role > or his Servant wrote as the Doctor directed in Severall
Loose papers, And accordingly he did deliver every thing so
directed to the several patients, but those papers by the
negligence of his Servant are lost and therefore wee
cannot allow him anything for the same

All which wee humbly Submitt to yor grave Consideracon
