Middlesex , Session-House, Clerkenwell .

SIR,


By an Act of Parliament passed in the 37th Year of
the Reign of his present Majesty, An Act of empowering the Justices of
" Peace, to make a fair and equal County Rate for the said County" you were
required, within the two first Days of the last Michaelmas Quarter Sessions, holden
in and for the said County, to make a Return to the Justices of the Peace, then and
there assembled, of the total Amount of the Rental, or Value of Estates within your
Parish at the Time of making the last preceding Rate for the Relief of the
Poor; but by your Neglect and Default in not making such Return, the said Justices,
in their Quarter Session assembled, by way of Penalty for such Neglect or Default,
have ordered and adjudged, that you shall forfeit, and pay the Sum of Ten Bounds;
and in Case the said Penalty is not paid, the said Justices in their next Session as-
sembled, will issue their Warrant to the High Constable of the Division wherein your
Parish is situate, directing him to levy such Penalty upon your Goods and
Chattles, pursuant to the Statute in that Case made and provided.
