To the Worshipful His Majesty's Justices
of the Peace in and for the County of Middlesex in
General Quarter Session of the Peace for
the said County Assembled

The Humble Petition and Appeal of the
Overseers of the Poor of the Precinct of White Friars
in the City of London .

Sheweth

That by virtue of an Order of Removal or Pass
Warrant under the hands and Seals of Edward Read< no role >
and John Floud< no role > Esquires two of His Majestys Justices of the
Peace acting in and for the City and Liberty of Westminster
in the County of Middlesex (one whereof being of the Quorum)
bearing date the ninth day of March 1799. Jane the Wife of
Thomas Mattenly< no role > by the Name of Jane Mattenly< no role > and
Charles< no role > her illegitimate son were removed and conveyed
from and out of the Parish of Saint Paul Covent Garden
within the Liberty of Westminster in the said County of
Middlesex and delivered to your Petitioners being the Overseers
of the Poor of the Precinct of White Friars in the said
City of London (the said Justices adjudging that the place of
the last legal settlement of the said Jane and Charles her
Son was in the said Precinct of White Friars in the said City
of London by which said Order of Removal or Pass Warrant
Your Petitioners apprehend themselves to be aggrieved

Your Petitioiners therefore humbly Appeal against
the said Order of Removal or Pass Warrant and
pray such Relief in the premises as to Your Worships
shall seem meet and that the benefit of this their
Appeal may be saved unto them and that the
hearing and Determination thereof may be adjourned
until the next General Session of th Peace to be
holden for the said County
