the House what is on the leftheside leading from
Aldersgate Street was very old and miserable in
Appearance and seemed to be a Booksellers as there was

old and apparently of little or no ValueJust before
I got to the House I observed a Person knock at the Door
of the Shop which was opened by ap [..] Woman with a
Child in her arms & who seemed by her Duss and
Appearance to be in indigent circumstances I walked up
with all possible haste thinking it asaserable opportunity
to get admissions: and asked her if that was not the
place where I wd. purcha [..] an Account that I undertood

the replied that the believed there was a Person who
lived in the House that I might punchase it of, but that
she had nothing at all to do with it, that many
persons had been then for the same purpose and that
she was very sorry the People who sold it lived in the
House as she had had a great deal of trouble in consequence
